Hi, I'm Oanie(alias Joan before grandchildren)! I started making blankets for my first grandchild in December 1995. My children wanted something snuggley and cute for their babies to carry around. They had remembered me telling how they had all had blankets (big ones) when they were little. They wanted small blankets for their babies to carry around. The first blanket is still going strong although it has been repaired twice. Not bad considering it got washed every day the first year and a half that it was in exsistence.

HOW IT ALL STARTED..1995

"OANIE'S BLANKETS" came about because my daughters were running into people at mall, the grocery store, day care & etc. wanting to know "Where did you get those blankets? I want one for my baby/grandchild!"
My husband, son and daughters kept at me to start making them to sell to others. Me--I wasn't so sure. Yes, they are cute & so snuggley and my boys love them....But others?
Through a lot of prayer & stepping out in faith...HERE WE ARE!
I promise that your children and grandchildren will love the blankets. I love them and I sew them!

Our business is small. It includes me, "Oanie", my husband, and a son, a daugher-in-law, 2 daughters and their husbands. We are the cutters,sewers, buyers, and sellers. And don't let me forget the best part...the testers...4 wonderful grandboys with another boy tester on the way. With all this family helping we are planning on going a long way.
